Migration Gotcha's

If they're planning on migrating to the latest version on HP-UX, which is
8.43G, not much would need to be done. I would recommend reading the
various new feature guides and release note in between. C-ISAM is still
supported on UNIX but on Linux it uses DISAM, a C-ISAM clone. Most
everything else is the same. You'll want to look at fix lists as well to
see if any fixes changed something you were making use of.
There is no PHD on UNIX, which is a QUICK-based application to handle the
dictionary. If you were using Architect, you would generate the PDL source
code and go from there.
We have a couple of migration guides and although they're for migrating
from MPE/iX or OpenVMS, they do cover many os the things you might want to
look at, just in terms of checking them off that there are no changes. And
if you're moving to relational, the guides talk about that. They're
available at:

So a very loaded question...
Say someone was running a very old version of PH on Unix (7.33.D3) and
they needed to migrate to something current.. What would let need to look
at.. Not much of it is compiled other then the quick screens. but it uses
a lot of CISAM
I can come up with a couple on my own;
-Existing Subfiles
-Recompilation
-Is CISAM still supported?
-Function defaults
-QKDRIVERs
-PHD to PDL

Thanks
