OpenVMS Quick Screen calling a Java program

Definitely doable but "involved" as long as you can call a C routine.

Three methods come to mind:

1) Use JNI (JAVA Native Interface)

http://soa.sys-con.com/node/45840

2) Do it through a J2EE server. That is, create an EJB that sits on
the J2EE server and communicate with it through a C client using something
like SOAP.

3) If the application is simple enough use sockets to communicate with
a "JAVA Server".

Did I mention that it can be "involved" :-). Good luck!

Subject: OpenVMS Quick Screen calling a Java program

Dear Listers:

Assuming somebody is still out "There"....

Would anybody like to comment on this? Can it be done, if not why not? And
is there any kind of workaround? I can call (i.e. excute from weithin) other
Quick screens, 'C' programs, DCL procedures, etc.....

Many thanks for any insight or practical experiences.
