Question about auto logout in QKGO file

If that doesn't work, there may be the option of the "bouncer" utility
that we employ. (We have a similar issue, but with Oracle licenses).
After 30 minutes of inactivity (no keystrokes) the session gets punted.
We did have to build in knowledge about certain users, who could be in a
payroll application that legitimately could take more than 30 minutes to
run.

If you start the lmgrd with a log file, you will then see when and which
users are logged in/out - it is possible that the issue is not related
to time outs - unless you already know that this is the case.
(/ripper1d/cognos/powerhse/license1/lmgrd >
/ripper1d/cognos/powerhse/license1/jfolmdn.log 2>&1 &)
You could then set up a couple of screens and leave them to time out,
then check the log to see if their licence is released before or after
the menu screen is exited.

Subject: Question about auto logout in QKGO file
How does the QKGO file's timeout feature work?
Is the QKGO file (say 20 mins) checking frequently, to kick people out
if they've left a QUICK session online for longer than 20 minutes? Does
it only kick them out AFTER they try to change screens, for example?
The issue we're having is we're running out of powerhouse licenses due
to the number of users trying to access the system from a powerhouse
main menu. However, there are people that leave their sessions on the
screen in this main menu, without logging out and so it books a license.
As soon as they go back and try and do something QKGO seems to kick in
and therefore logs them out, basically saying "...uh uh.. Sorry... you
took too long to action your screen". We want QKGO to do this anyway,
and kick them out of the screen whether they are using it or not.
Thanks
Kind regards,
