David,
=20
All of our production QTP's run in batch and are called from one
standard Quick screen which submits them using the ADDJOBSCDE command
with an SBMDBJOB embedded in it.
=20
They all go to an active output queue, which has a printer connected -
if the log files are needed (rarely) they are released to the printer.
We don't want to lose them altogether since they are a valuable problem
solving tool.On the 'old' machine they are appended to the output queue
in 'held' status, on the new machine they are appended in 'rls' status
and since it is active make their way to the printer ...
=20
The problem we have is that while we THINK we have copied all the user
and batch profiles, job descriptions, queues, printers etc without
changes we have obviously overlooked something - but what ???
=20
I have found some stuff on one of the IBM sites (
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/iseries/v5r2/ic2924/books/c415713506.htm )
which covers how the printing subsystem works - hopefully the answer
will lie on there somewehere ...
=20
cheers
Richard

Richard,
=20
We use OVRDBF STDOUT to QTEMP/QTJUNK in (most of) our submitted
CL programs that call QTP. Therefore, there's no need to delete the
print file, as that copy of QTEMP library disappears when the submitted
job ends..
=20
Are your QTP logs actually printing or are they being spooled to
an output queue that isn't connected to a printer?
=20
What were you doing on your old machine to keep the QTP logs
from spooling, and from printing?
=20
Are your QTP's running interactively or in batch? Are they
called from CL or QUICK (or ?)?
=20
Thanks.

User OVRPRTF QPRINT spool file to a non-printer output
queue on AS400.=20
You can also do OVRDBF STDOUT to QTEMP/QPRINT and then
delete QTEMP/QPRINT when done.=20

Afternoon listers !=20
We are currently migrating our PH app to a new machine
and have struck=20
an interesting and environmentally insensitive issue -
we can't stop=20
4-5,000 pages of QTP log files from printing each day.=20
We have reviewed the setup of all the print queues and
job descriptions=20
in OS/400 to be the same on both machines and are
starting to suspect=20
there may be something in the PH startup files.=20
Does anybody out there have any ideas ??=20
