**Data conversion error ** in Quiz !

Great advice Chuck,

we load our app (PH6.07 on AS/400) using flat files sourced from another
system. All of our date fields are double defined - once as a number but
also as a character field 

DTE_FPLCREATN_CHAR                CHARACTER             8      1      30 
.DTE_FPLCREATN                    ZONED UNSIGNED        8      1      30 

Our biggest problem with these is if they get filled with spaces in which
case Quiz will show ### but QTP will have a big time hissy fit ! There is no
overhead to this in normal usage but it does give you the very useful
ability to at leats see what PH thinks is in the field.

Bob's advice to check which end of the number the "-" is at is also very
good - especially if your issue is related to a boundary between 2 machines
/ systems.
