Hardly. We have to plan the requirements for the follow-on release well in
advance of the start of development work...after all, we don't want to have
our software engineers sitting around doing nothing once they have finished
the development of the version they are currently working on.

As it happens, 8.30 for OpenVMS is just coming to the end of its development
phase and is moving into QC. Field testing will then follow, and hopefully
we will see it released and shipping by mid-year. The 8.39 version for
MPE/iX is already in field test, and will probably be released and shipping
to customers in early April.

PowerHouse 4GL 8.4 is the generic name for all of the 8.4x releases, and so
there will be an 8.40 for OpenVMS, 8.41 for Windows NT/2000, 8.43 for UNIX
(HP-UX, Tru64 UNIX, AIX and Solaris), and 8.49 for MPE/iX. The exact order
in which these will be released has yet to be determined.
