PowerHouse 8.30 on OpenVMS: Call to Beta

Hello all:

I am looking for a few PowerHouse OpenVMS customers who are interested and
have some time to commit to testing, to participate in the PowerHouse 8.30
Beta test.  The Beta product will be shipped to selected Beta sites in the
mid-March 2001 timeframe, and the Beta test period will run for about five
weeks. 

Participants would be expected to provide feedback on the results of their
testing to Cognos.  

Please note that, if selected, the PowerHouse 8.30 Beta product must not be
used in any way for production systems, as it will not be supported beyond
the Beta period. 

While this call to Beta is not limited only to Cognos supported customers,
please note that only supported OpenVMS customers will automatically receive
the production level PowerHouse 8.30C when it is available.

PowerHouse 8.30 contains most of the VMS specific functionality that
customers use now in PowerHouse 7.10 (POW, PHD, Trusted Mode, Mailbox
support, VMSTIMESTAMP, etc), along with a few further enhancements. An
upgrade guide will be provided in the Beta package. 

The benefit to you as a Beta tester is to jump start the upgrade planning
and process for PowerHouse 8.30, and the benefit to Cognos is to help us
ensure that the product meets your functionality and quality expectations.

If you are interested in test-driving this release, please respond to me
directly via e-mail by March 7, 2001 with the following information. Those
selected as Beta sites will be notified by March 9, 2001.

General Information:
*	Cognos Customer Number.
*	Person to whom the Beta package should be sent to.
*	Shipping address.
*	Telephone number.
*	Are you a supported Cognos Customer.

Application and Testing Information:
*	The name of the person who will be the main contact during this Beta
test.
*	How many of your developers would be involved with the testing.
*	How much time can you devote to this Beta testing.
*	What is your current production PowerHouse Version
*	What is the Operating System version on the machine on which testing
will be performed..
*	Which File System or Database will be used. Please include the
version.
*	How many QUICK screens, QUIZ reports and QTP runs will be involved
in the Beta testing.
*	What specific application testing will you perform with the Beta
software.
*	Is there any specific new features or features, that you are
interested in testing.
