Jon,

If it is a real problem, I would look for a prebuilt Impromptu data
dictionary for the PeopleSoft product.  Maybe one of these two vendors
already have one.  That is what we did for BAAN so the users could see and
understand the schema.  I hear BAAN has a very weird naming structure. 
Thankfully I don't work on it.

Also ask both companies what they know about this combination.  You might
get good news.

One of my pet peeves is seeing the use of many different products that do
the same thing.  So, I also suggest choosing ONE corporate standard for
your GUI report writer.  I once worked for a company that let the users get
away with using dBase, Foxpro, ACIUS?, Excel, and Word for PC/Mac database
use.  Then the users complained when they couldn't share the data!
