Rdb 7.0 and PH 6.10/6.20

I do not know if Impromptu will work well with the
PeopleSoft data structures.  I have found that with
other highly integrated packages, ie. SAP, BAAN, the
vendor literally (not virtually, literally) locks the
buyer into a database structure complicated enough
that not even Oracle dba's can get data out, in a
sensible manner.  (What ever happened to the open
systems concept? laka-nai!) 

So, should I try to implement Impromptu with
PeopleSoft, or use their Query?

Open to comments.
