sort work

I don't know if this is any help, but I once cut the execution time of a QTP
program from 6 hours to 5 minutes by splitting out the sort and running it
via VMS.

My SORT.COM command. 
$ SET SEC/PROT=(S:RWED,O:RWED,G:RWED,W:RWED) [000000...]SORTWORK*.*/LOG
$ SET SEC/PROT=(S:RWED,O:RWED,G:RWED,W:RWED)
SYS$SYSDEVICE:[SYS0.SYSMGR]SORTWORK*.*/LOG
