Hiding a footing in Quiz

Thanks, Michel; I've used a variation of this trick, too!

I define a non-printable (but not the space) character so you don't even see the period (in EBCDIC, I use Hex 41).

Thanks.

That was the standard trick.

The other one was to have defined item(s) that were just either 'blank' or a '.' (period), so that you could control the printing of 'blank' lines when using SET NOBLANK, and force one to print. You would put the defined at the far right (or left). A period was often the least conspicuous character you could use.

Karen,

How about this:

You can move figures to temporaries only if your conditions are met; use BWZ on your numerics; and don't print blank lines (SET NOBLANKS).

Thanks.

Hey,

Does anyone remember how to hide a footing when no record? I have a report where I only want to print if a particular set of detail records exists for the master file.

Nothing in the Footing At statement helps. Do I define a line as blank if no record? Won't that make an extra empty line?

Thanks in advance,

Karen Barrett
