Performance Questions and a little need for some education.

I agree with Guy. 

 

Unless you or your users experience issues with performance or you are going
thru a major conversion to another platform, there is no benefit in
switching from DEFINES to TEMPS. The testing will drive you to drink.

 

My rule of thumb is this. If a report takes more than 5 minutes to run, I
investigate why and see if I can speed it up.

 

As for ANYONE needing to learn how to speed up powerhouse (QTP
specifically), this group is the best source of information. Just take one
of your programs that you want to optimize and post it on the list server
for everyone to come up with ways to speed it up. You will get a different
response from everyone here, but we will all learn something out of it.
