Walter, the fastest way to tell if you have a development license on the
machine is to go into Qdesign.
It will only work if you have a development license on that machine

Hi Walter,
There are actually five (5) types of PowerHouse licenses:
'Full Development' -- no restrictions ('the works').
'Runtime' -- you can only execute compiled Quiz, Quick and QTP programs.
'Runtime with Reporting' -- same as 'Runtime' but also allows you to run
Quiz source.
'Reporting Only' -- never purchased this option but think that it is
Quiz only.
'Reporting No Dictionary' -- don't know about this one.

Subject: PowerHouse licensing question
Greetings,
Since I'm not the person in my bureaucracy who handles licensing and
support, I have a rather simple question for the group.
Environment: PowerHouse 4GL Version 8.39C1, MPE/iX 7.5.
For PowerHouse, is there a distinction between a development license and
a run-time license? I am told that only one of our systems has a
development version, and the rest are all run-time. I can't tell the
difference. In fact, the machine we now use for PowerHouse development
is not the one that our SysAdmin claims to have the development version.
So, is there a difference? If so, how do I tell what kind of license a
machine has?
Thanks.
Walter
