Scott:
No experience with this particular thing, but if you're sure that it's an Oracle configuration issue why not try their support web site? Often tons of good stuff there.

Subject: Oracle connection problem
We are having a unique problem trying to establish a connection in the following environment:
OpenVMS
Powerhouse 8.20.D
Client: Oracle Rdb V7.0-72 (VMS)
DB version: Oracle RDBMS 9.2.0.6 (located on an HP-UX 11.23)
This environment has worked without issue until we migrated the characterset from WE8ISO8859P1 to WE8MSWIN125. After we migrated the database to the new characterset, we receive the following error message:
*W* SQL START DBE error (JDE)
DMS-E-GENERAL, A general exception has occurred during operation 'attach
database'.
ORA-03113: end-of-file on communication channel
Upon reviewing an Oracle listener and sqlnet logs, powerhouse is making a valid connection, but we still receive the error. It appears to be an oracle type configuration problem, but are having problems determining the origin.
Has anyone experienced a similar situation - or maybe offer some research tips or VMS logs to review?
Thanks for your help!
