It rang the bell because this problem has been in since PowerHouse 8.20 or something on VMS. I did a trial and it worked correctly.

Hi Frank,

Try to check the exact size of your subfile to see whether it is odd number
of bytes or even number of bytes in total.

If it is odd number of bytes then try to add an item of 1 byte size to make
the subfile size even number of bytes.

This is a well known problem in the MPEX/iX  platform. I guess it may be
the same problem in your VMS platform.

I have a problem using subfiles in Quick 840D on VMS. A logical is defined
for:

Define FIN_TRACEABILITY STR$SCRATCH:FT_0000C0B8_2006012309090149

Quiz reports the data (Dump *FIN_TRACEABILITY) that is correct

Qdesign generates the right field statements, but Quick reports "Data
access error (FIN_TRACEABILITY)"
