Conditional Compile on HP-UX

The parenthesis mean something to Unix command line tools so your 
probably getting this error; Badly placed ()'s.

Try qdesign CC='(XXX)'

I get an error when trying to place double quotes around XXX that says; 
Quotation marks are not allowed within bracketed options.
