subfile with indices

Which file did you open in vi? Indexed subfiles on unix consist of 3 files
- .idx, .dat, and .sfd. If there was no data, only the .dat file will have
a zero length - the other two still hold some data even if they are empty.
Is this a brand new subfile, or is it an old existing one? Did you use Quiz
or QTP to create it? Whichever way you created it, did it say how many
records were written to it when it was created? Can you do a "show subfile
index_subfile" in qshow ok? (So many questions...)

We r working in Unix, That is a permanent file.
I am sure there is data as i opened the file in vi editor and saw the data.
There was no switching in between.
