The command may well work with the wrong dictionary. It depends how
wrong the dictionary is. For example, if there are entities in the
compiled file that are not in the dictionary, you'll get errors pretty
quickly. However, if it's things like missing descriptions (that are
used for help), you just won't see the help. Worse, if you use
application security, but it's different between different dictionaries
that otherwise have the same entities, you may get unpredictable
security.

there is the long way, namely, run a command like 'quick
auto=filename dict=dictfile' ( or the mpe equivalent ) for each of the
dictionaries that you have. Presumably the command will only work with
the correct dictionary :-)
