Have you considered using SQL Server DTS packages?
What does your customer consider to be real time?
DTS Packages can be scheduled using SQL Server Agent
to run when you want.  If you use a delta, i.e. some
flag of difference between the source and target
databases, you can just bring over incremental changes
in the data. 
Do you have an ODBC connection to the Image data?
