Brett,
To my knowledge .FDL (File Definition Language) files are used only on VMS.
They are configuration files used by the RMS (Record Management System)
utility which comes with VMS/OpenVMS. They contain such information as
record length, record type, block size to use in data and index segments,
etc...

Hi there,
We use PH on an AIX platform. Have never heard of a .FDL file?
Brett.

I am using powerhouse version 7.10.g3 and Data files created in
the
dictionary do not automatically generate .FDL files . I need to at least
create an FDL file for a data file I need to use now.
a) Can any one give me a command line to accomplish this for one file.
b) Is there a way to get the Dictionary to automatically generate an FDL
file for any Data file I create
Thanks a million.
