QTP stdin redirection within jobstream

John:

Some thoughts on using message files in QTP.

I believe there are supportlink articles on creating message records
in QUICK and processing them in QUIZ or QTP.

I have always had to play around with message files in order
to get them to work. QTP has a timeout set for STDIN so it is
possible for QTP to timeout if there are no records to process.

I believe the problem maybe that QTP in Batch is looking
line numbers and it takes your data as such. I think it
assumes line numbers if the last 8 characters of the stdin are
  numeric.

You could one of two things

  1) put line numbers on your input records.

or pad your input records with blanks.

Peter Bateman
