Catch 22 (or Hooray for Portable Subfiles!)

When attempting to create a subfile in Quiz out 
of dataset with 16 times 29 arrays.  I got:

*E* File error on dictionary portion of subfile.

My first assumption was an error in the 
dictionary,ut that checked out O.K.

Looked it up in the Manual (version 7.29, even 
though I use version 8.19.)* it says that the 
item limit for version is 155, even if I revert 
to format 3, I am limited to 440.

O.K. Try QTP, accch!  Can't use subscripts and
I get the same limits.

PORTABLE SUBFILE saves the day!  It apparently 
does not know or care about such limits.

* (Then I fired up the .pdf version of the 8.19
manual, it does not mention these limits in the
same chapter, why was it omitted?)
