PowerHouse Web should have no problem running on any web browser that
supports HTML 4 or XHTML 1 (virtually the same thing) on any OS. The =
term
zero-footprint client is supposed to mean that there is nothing needed =
on
the client machine in addition to what's expected to already be there. =
So if
a web browser is needed and is expected to reside on the client =
machine,
there should not be any plug-ins needed. So if a product uses HTML =
only,
it's called zero footprint. The pdfs mentioned for Cognos Series 7 are =
the
reports themselves.

Cognos tools are not available for OS X. Only the Windows platform.
You have only three possible questions to ask. Has anybody run the=20
Cognos BI tools or Axiant on a PC emulator running on OS X? Has anybody =
used OS X web browsers, such as OmniWeb or Safari, with the browser=20
interfaces of the BI tools? Is Cognos porting Axiant and the BI tools =
to=20
Mac OS X?
Here is a small paragraph from their marketing paper "Managed Reporting =
with Cognos Series 7". 'Cognos Web-based applications deliver reporting =
using only HTML and PDFs =97 no Java applets, or plug-ins are required. =
The zero-footprint client eliminates browser-compatibility and firewall =
security problems, and significantly reduces the drain on bandwidth and =
other IT resources.'
I get very cautious when a company says, 'zero-footprint client=20
eliminates browser-compatibility'. That statement _strongly_ says the =
OS=20
X browsers should work properly.
Anyhow, I'm also interested in resposes to this question.
