That statement is a little harsh. Cognos does believe in itself. It just 
chooses to focus on BI. Not BI as in two (ADT & BI tools), but BI as in 
Wintel Business Intelligence tools. (I say wintel because that is the 
only platform the user interface runs on. I exclude browsers because 
that is usually limited in abilities, and sometimes in browser choice.)

ADT must have a decent revenue stream to continue the minor upgrades. 
Also a number of ADT customers are current BI customers or potentials. 
So, I suspect Cognos doesn't want to piss them off too much, else those 
customers may start buying from competitors.

Powerhouse may be a decent tool, but certainly isn't perfect. For 
instance I just got screwed by the QDesign 31 file limit. I have to 
TRICK (perform otherwise unnecessary coding) Powerhouse yet again. By 
the way, our ignorance of other great development tools does not make 
Powerhouse the greatest.  :)
