That is normal Powerhouse behaviour and my advice is to leave it alone.

It may be possible to display a message as the last record is displayed but
that can be tricky. You have to count the number of records you're going to
display and count them as you display them, then issue a message when the
screen displays the last one. Make sure that if they change or delete a
record in the middle of a cluster that the next screen starts on the record
you expect it to. Does your screen have a cache? If so, you have to consider
combinations of scrolling through the cache and retrieving the next
cache-full, etc.

If you get it working, then once users see a screen work that way, they want
all the screens to work the same way and you're faced with a maintenance
headache.

A better solution is to train the users to accept the normal Powerhouse
behaviour. If they see a blank screen, or blank lines at the end of the
list, then that is their signal that they've retrieved all the records. It
may look "ugly" for a few hours, but I guarantee that after a little use,
it'll be accepted, and even expected.

Subject: Stop blank screen when no more records to display

We are trying to stop the blank screen appearing when the number of records
in the file matches the number of items on the screen (ie. There are no
spare Powerhouse ids on the screen). The blank screen happens when the User
presses the <Enter> key.
But, if you have say 12 records in the file and have 13 powerhouse ids on
the screen, pressing the <Enter> key displays the 12 records.

Does anybody know or has done this technique before?

We are using version; AIX PowerHouse 8.13.D2.

Cheers,
Brett.
