Hmmm, are you trolling?

In case you ARE serious, I have several years experience programing in
Cognos ADT tools and C. C++ is more complex than C.
Unless you have a specific need to code in C/C++ and your boss has LOTS of
money and time for contractors I would recommend NOT using C++ in place of
PH/Axiant. The data handling alone is a pain in C. Error checking is
tenuous.

>From my experience it would take you several times longer to code a
form/process/report in C/C++ than Axiant, even if you know C and had to
learn Axiant first.

C++ contractors also demand a higher rate than PH/Axiant contractors.

my employer has suggested development in c++ as a low-cost alternative to
axiant.

my gut feeling is that however attractive this is personally, it would be a
terrible idea from a business point of view.

do any listers have experience of ground up development in c++/sqlserver, or
of moving there from powerhouse/axiant?

regards,
stephen.
