Reams of screen prints

Are you using terminals or emulators from a pc?

We use Reflections (versions 8 and 9) sessions to access PH7.10G on
OpenVMS7.1. A few of our users were allegedly hitting the f2 key to print
screen and they would sporadically empty the printer tray with screen
prints. It was only a few users, we couldn't relaibly replicate it, and it
didn't happen for everyone using Reflections 8. WRQ (the maker of
Reflections) gave us the ever-dreaded, off-handed answer to "upgrade and
your problems will be solved". We upgraded those few machines and the
problem seemed to go away. The majority of our user base is still using
version 8 without any problems.... Things that make you go hmmmmmmm...

I realize I didn't give any definitive solutions, but hopefully we can share
info more efficiently than the feds.

Subject: Reams of screen prints

Hi all,

We are on OpenVMS, PH 7.10F3

Occasionally one of my users generates reams of screen prints to the system
printer. By screen prints, I mean the output of the Quick List
command. It seems they somehow gets in a mode where every change to the
screen generates a new page. This continues until they exit Quick.

The printed pages are definitely the output of a the LIST command, they
have the user's Lgon ID, Port ID, Quick version, Screen name and compile
date, etc printed below the screen image.

I thought perhaps these users were inadvertently hitting the key
combination for the LIST ALL command, but my testing shows that LIST ALL
doesn't do this.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Mike
