Hello Michal,
We have tried this in the past and are now trying it again.
First time was from Powerhouse 7.33 and Unix to Axiant 2.02, Powerhouse
8.01C and WinNT.
Presently we are moving from Powerhouse 8.13D and Unix to Axiant 3.1,
Powerhouse 8.23D7 and Unix.
The size of our application is approximately double compared to yours. The
database is Oracle in both cases.
We are importing the quick code to Axiant and add the GUI functionality.
We are not converting quiz and qtp programs. These run batch on the server.
The advantage of this method is that you do not have to rewrite the logic of
the application and you end up with a nice looking user interface.
The 2.02 version had some problems. The 3.1 is better and we have not found
any serious problems so far.
The installation and setup phase is complicated. We asked Cognos for support
several times.
Also you will need to devote some time to learning Axiant as a tool.
You do not mention anything about databases or operating systems. These are
important factors too.
If you have any more questions feel free to contact me either through the
list or directly.
Regards,
Andreas Argyriou

Subject: Form PH 7.10 to Axiant
Hello,
I am working in The Czech Republic for Belgian company. We are
developing in PH 7.10 and now we want (we must) move to anything else.
In fact we have two possibility: Axiant or something completely new.
It is nice to read about Axiant on Cognos www pages but do You have
personal experiences with Axiant or especially with move from PH to
Axiant (2000 programs, 400 data files)
Thank You. Michal
