You're going to have to shell out to VMS and call EVE or EDIT.

Subject: text file edit

We have a customer (HPUX 11, PH 813) who would like to be able to edit a
simple, 80-char text file using PH, so that he can run it inside his
existing menu structure. He doesn't want to expose the users to VI.

It looked like we could set a large USAGE type field in the dictionary and
be able to modify the data with a scrollable field. So far, that's not
working out too well - the arrow keys don't work for scrolling and attempts
to modify the data frequently kicks us out of the screen altogether.

Are there any other methods for doing what we want to do?

thanks in advance
Madeleine D.
