Dear Ashish
The second example IS more efficient in the particular case you provided.
However the first example provides you with a variable that can be
manipulated before the output phase if your logic requires it.

Subject: QTP Quesion
Hi All,
Help needed. I am novice to Powerhouse.
This is related to QTP.
Is there any functional difference in following code samples ?
Or are these two different ways of doing same thing ?
1)
REQUEST A
ACCESS MY-FILE
TEMP T ZONED SIGNED SIZE 11
ITEM T = FIELD1 + FIELD2
OUTPUT MY-FILE UPDATE
SET FILE MY-FILE OPEN 1
ITEM FIELD1 FINAL T
2)
REQUEST A
ACCESS MY-FILE
OUTPUT MY-FILE UPDATE
SET FILE MY-FILE OPEN 1
ITEM FIELD1 = FIELD1 + FIELD2
---------------------------------
As far as I know, both does same work and second one is efficient
coding example.
Thanks in advance for your help !
Regards,
Ashish.
