Axiant vs VB (was RE: Is powerhouse dead?)

I started out on PH version 6.4 and then COBOL and now VB and Visual Studio.
I guess I was one of the lucky ones. You are right about VB not having a db
dict for "better" db controls, but I found that ADO and SQL are more than
enough tools to manage very complicated querying and database issues. In
fact I find ADO gives you more control over the database than PH. And I mean
control in the sense that you can go down into the database schema, and
yes... even it's dictionary for other hard-core db programming.... and the
flexibility in terms of data results (XML, etc) is vast! Try writing an XML
parser in PH!
