C-ISAM Support > 2GB

I thought this probklem had been solved.
In the distant past I used 5.23, 6.33, and 7.23 on DG/UX. There was a
problem with C-ISAM, which was due to the way Cognos had licensed the
product, which effectively meant you could only open 16 files per session.
PowerHouse opens each file in the Quick screen twice, once as READ-ONLY, and
once as READ-WRITE (unless the file is a reference file, in which case its
READ-ONLY). Powerhouse does not close the files on exit from the screen -
you can change this by putting CLOSE on the file statements, so they are
closed on exit from the screen. This was the workaround provided by Cognos,
and the problem was therefore resolved.
In later versions of Powerhouse C-ISAM has a seperate license key, which is
supposed to remove this limitation.
Is this problem still around?

Neil, according to development, we don't count the two files as two
PowerHouse opens. It should be one entry in the file table. That means that
you should be able to open 31 CISAM files.
Have you seen a problem? What component and version was it and what was the
exact message? It's possible that there's some setting outside of PowerHouse
that limits the number of physical file opens.

With Powerhouse on HP-UX, it seem that Indexed Subfiles (using C-ISAM)
can be a max of 2GB.
Is there a workaround - we have configured fsadm for large file support,
and can create normal files > 2GB.
Also, it seems that PowerHouse counts each C-ISAM .dat and .idx as
individual files, thus only allowing 16 C-ISAM files to be open in any
one session. Is this correct, and if so, are there plans to increase the
32 file limit in the near future.
Regards
Neil
