PowerHouse and FoxPro

Thanks Scott

In the end I just used a scheduled SQL Server DTS routine to extract the
data to a CSV file and got the FoxPro programmer to write a program to read
this and update the FoxPro table.

I wish I could have done it in QTP though as it would have been a good demo
of what PH can do that other tools can't.

Allah'u'abhá

Using duct tape, eh?

We pull from a vendor that's using one of the older versions of Foxpro(must
be a Chicago thing, cause that's where Dan is). What we do is output from
Fox as a flat file, FTP to HP, then QTP into Image db. you have to make
sure the columns all line up, just like you would for a COBOL program, but
it works. Dan outputs the Flat file, We suck it off the web, unzip it, ftp
it to the HP then massage it with QUIZ, putting it into a sub file. We then
go to QTP for the actual updates, this speeds things up because QTP has a
LOT more overhead. Then back to QUIZ for our final report.

G'day all

Version: Axiant 3.1
Database: MS SQL Server 7 (sp3), MS FoxPro 2.6
OS: MS Windows NT 4.0 (sp5), and MS Windows NT 5.0 (2000)

Has any of you used PowerHouse with a MS FoxPro 2.6 database? I am trying
to write a QTP routine to update a FoxPro table with data from a SQL Server
table. Is this possible? My alternative is MS ActiveX scripting which I am
unfamiliar with and may not be able to do the job either.
