Training Survey

Richard,

The training we provide is of the "professional" variety, which means it is
usually a 1 to 5 day 8 hours a day class. Most of the PowerHouse classes
are a full 5 days of intensive training, conducted by COGNOS, using their
material. We believe the college setting is a little more conducive to
learning then going to a company location and setting up in a conference
room. So, far we have had students travel to Maryland for the classes from
13 different states and as far away as California. The concept seems to be
working and it continues to pick up steam as more and more people realize
"if they are not learning they are falling behind." This was the first
semester that we added PowerHouse classes to the schedule.

Thanx,
	Jon Backus

I think good training is essential. I can see how offering
it at a university would not pan out though. Someone would
have to:

a. live in or near Hagerstown. People are not going to travel
   every week for a class.
b. have a need to use Powerhouse in their job. And usually if
they have a need, it can't wait for a full semester. They
want it over with in a week or two.

People are not going to take the class for kicks. There aren't
enough unfilled Powerhouse jobs floating around to make it
attractive. The lower cost of a university class is probably
not a selling point either, because the employer would be paying
for it.
