Hi Roger,

It's purpose is to commit a transaction used with a relational database.
For example, if you are writing a QUICK screen for use with ORACLE tables,
you could procedurally commit the current UPDATE transaction your screen is
using with the command COMMIT UPDATE.  Also, if you have created your own
custom transaction called (say) TRAN1, you can procedurally commit it with
the command COMMIT TRAN1 [or roll it back with the command ROLLBACK TRAN1].
