Yep, you should have used QTP. :-)
Quiz will only write out to the subfile the items included in the REPORT
statement. It will never include any Heading or Footing items.
If you can't use QTP, you can include a Subtotal in your Report statement
and a Set Subfile AT option.

Hope that helped. Sorry if it didn't, I didn't get into the first part of
this one.

Should have posted some more detail on what I'm trying to accomplish....

Trying to sort/report at head/foot of sort keys....

Sort on key1 on key2 on key3 on key4

initial heading...
heading at key 2
footing at key4

I'm missing some syntax to allow this, because..........

rep summary 
;
initial heading.....
;
heading at key2.....
;
footing at key4......
;;
and I get
*E* Can't write to a subfile with either no REPORT statement, or no REPORT 
items.
