Al,

This is an extract from the PowerHouse Series 8.1 Quiz Reference manual:

QUIZ Statements
SET PAGE

<removed unneeded info>

WIDTH n
Specifies the maximum number of characters, including spaces, to
be accepted on a report line or page image. A SET REPORT
DEVICE TERMINAL or SET REPORT DEVICE PRINTER statement
resets the width to the default.
Limit: 1 to 264
Default: 132 for printers; 79 for terminals

<removed unneeded info>

Note the upper limit of 264 characters.

Personally, I would use QTP for this.

regards,
Robert

ps. You can download a full set of the 8.1 manuals (also applies 8.2) in PDF
format from www.cognos.com

Good Friday to the -L,

I'm testing a new proc which needs to create a 314-byte wide output
(subfile, disk file, nail file ]:-))....in Quiz 8.29E, HP 3000 937/LX
running MPE/iX 6.0.0

There's something about a pesky limit that, apparently, ain't 314....so,
how's a person to get around this...?

The family's waiting on me to move it along....I can feel the
heat!!!...heading up to Wisconsin for the weekend and Would Really Like to
have the -L come thru for me on this!!!
