PH Web setup

I don't understand what you mean by conflict between specifying the
locations in the Administrator versus on the SCREEN statement. The locations
in the Administrator correspond to the PROCLOC and HTMLLOC program
parameters. They should only be applied if there is no path for the
corresponding file names. These are the names used on the PH_QKC and PH_HTML
parameters.
Unless you use the HTMLFILE option, the HTML Template file is created in the
same location as the compiled screen file. So if you change the location of
the screen file by adding a path to the screen name, the template is created
there as well. However, the PH_HTML parameter in the template only has the
file name, not the path. The PH_QKC parameter has the name specified as the
screen name including the path if specified.
You still need to provide the correct screen location in the Administrator
because that's the value for PROCLOC. PH Web Server needs that. If you
specify an HTML Location, it must be correct, otherwise PH Web will look in
the wrong place. If you don't specify any location, PH Web will find the
template if it's in the same place as the compiled screen file.
So all that said, it's easy enough to have your source in a different place.
If you want your compiled screen files and HTML Template files in different
places, the only way is to either specify the paths on the SCREEN statement
or copy them after creation. Regardless you should specify the accurate
locations in the Administrator.

Subject: PH Web setup
G'day all
We are trying to fine tune our PH Web environment and need some (polite)
suggestions.
Environment:
PH Web 2.21D
PH 4GL 8.21D
MS Windows NT 4.0 (sp6)
MS SQL Server 7.0 (sp2)
Our 'old' environment has QKS, QKC and HTM code all in the same directory,
e.g. d:\cognos\phweb\app1\... The QKS files do not have an explicit path on
the screen statement for the QKC nor are they using the HTMLFILE verb to
specify the explicit path to the HTML output. The PH Web admin tool has the
screen and HTML templates directories specified as d:\cognos\phweb\app1.
We don't like having ALL file type in the same dir and wanted to keep QKS in
d:\cognos\phweb\source, QKC in d:\cognos\phweb\compiled and HTM in
d:\cognos\phweb\html.
To do this we have put the explicit output paths in the SCREEN statement but
there seems to be a conflict between doing this and the locations specified
in the PH Web admin tool.
What have other people done? Any recommendations are appreciated.
