John et al,

Before I get a firestorm of responses I know Axiant is not that new. I meant to say
"newish" as in new versions (this also applies to Powerhouse Web). Most of the new
products were on the BI side, but even then not as many as last year. Some
suggested this was a good thing: It meant Cognos was building up the existing
products (debugging?) rather than constantly putting out new stuff.

The most impressive thing I saw by the way was a product called DecisionStream.
This allows you to look at an existing database and create a data warehouse/mart
out of it. It can even be used to update said data warehouse or mart! It was a
great product and fills a nice niche (this ad paid for by my friends at Cognos).
