Length of records in FDL file

Good afternoon,

We are running PH7.10.G1 on VMS6.2 and frequently use fdl files.
Here's a few thoughts, although I'm not quite sure how you're using the FDL.

As far as the fdl file itself, you can edit it with a regular editor or use
EDIT/FDL.
I believe it's the SIZE that you want to change, however there may be others
depending on what else is in the FDL.

I'm not sure if you used analyze/rms/fdl to initially create the fdl based
on a file declared in the dictionary, or created the fdl from scratch and
then use convert/fdl on the qtp output file.

As far as record length limit, you shouldn't have any problem setting the
record length to 2093, I have some that are closer to 4000.

Thanx
    Lorry

Listers -

We currently use an .FDL file called GEN_ASCTXT.FDL which is a template for
our ascii text output files, generated from QTP. It currently has a line
length size of 1023 characters whereas we need to output 2093.
I have tried copying this file and altering the size but this has not
worked. Is there a FDL generate process we have to use, or is 1023 the
upper limit?
