Since Qshow is not configurable I think I'll get what I need by linking a file
with all my Files
and items in it to another with all my Elements and reporting by the file I
need. A already have
these files as I used them 'cleaning out' unwanted elements in my Dictionary.
I've done a lot
of cleaning due to the 16Meg file size limit on *USRSPC files on the 4000 -
that's what the
dictionary is (Can you Dec and HP guys can believe that?).

Thanks for your help.

Hi George. I just got to thinking about this and it toggled something in my
memory. I'm not sure it will work but you can try it out.

Because of the way the metadata works on the AS/400 you can access most AS/400
database files as subfiles using the open name. This means if your filename is
TEST_FILE and it's physical open name is LIBL/TESTFILE you can go into QUIZ or
QTP and enter this:
ACCESS *LIBL/TESTFILE

If you then do a SHOW ITEMS it may or may not show the headings.

You may or may not be able to use the LIBL. If not try to name the actual
library where the data file resides.

Good luck.
