We are using 7.10.G1 and have had no problems that have been of any
real significance.
On page 317 of the Quiz manual there is the final part of an explanation
of how the PARM RANGE keywords work. So I tried the following in
Quiz, using a file of student data, which I refer to here as "NameFile",
having a repeating index for the "Surname" item.
Access NameFile
Choose Surname Systemvalue Logical "Std-Names" Range
Report ID-Number Surname
The results obtained were as follows.
Value of Logical
"Std-Names" Names retrieved
****************************************************************************
1. "CON" None -- no student here with this surname
2. "CON,CONN " Every student from CON.. to CONN
Notice that the logical value terminates with
a space.
3. "CON,CONN" Every student whose surname begins CON
4. "CON,CON" Every student whose surname begins CON
Therefore cases 3 & 4 effectively simulate "CON@"
I also tested with a global symbol instead of a logical and got the same
results.
Perhaps I should add that when testing "systemvalue logical" I defined
the logical at the job level.
Hope this will help you
