Run Time Only Option

Kevin,

We have the same set up which you are moving to.

What 'run-time' means is quiz and qtp with the build statement.

The constraints are that, if you need to change some data on your 'live'
machine you can no longer just do

Access <filename>
Output <filename> update
  item status final "xx"
GO

You would have to write the program first on your development machine
(replacing the 'go' with 'build') then copy the program onto your 'live'
machine, to run it.
Not only that, but the same applies for a simple quiz report.

Also, you won't be able to use some of the handy hints, cognos supply in the
support link magazine, as they assume everybody has full development on all
machines!

I don't know if its in your plans, but we have our 'live' databases
'shadowed' onto our development machine, initially as a backup, but this
allows us to analyse any problems using full development quiz.
