Regarding Speedware

Regarding "has anyone compared Speedware Classic with PowerHouse", we
utilize a payroll package that is written in Speedware 4GL, with much of
our home-grown software written in PowerHouse.

The Speedware is running against Oracle, but the PowerHouse is running
on C-ISAM. We find that the Speedware is very machine intensive - so
much so that the vendor is re-writing the package in Oracle code.
Speedware itself is not too bad in the limited coding that I've done,
the report writer is visually oriented and, in my mind, superior to
Quiz. However, it probably doesn't stack up against the business
intelligence products. I've never used them, though.

I still prefer PowerHouse, but that's because I use it every day ....
remember, that these are MY OWN opinions & are not the official views of
my beloved employer.

Thanks,
    Guy L. Werry
