If you truly have an in-house system which could be sold to others then I
can understand the desire to have it on a lowest common denominator platform
like U*x and Orakill. But why not first offer the VMS version to the
marketplace to see if there is any interest? How about getting the first U*x
customer to help pay for the port to his desired environment? It will be a
very expensive exercise if you port it and nobody wants it! You most
certainly will NOT save any of your own money. And unless it's really a pig
which requires big hardware then I'd look at NT first - much bigger
potential customer base.
