file must be locked

Given it worked before w/no problems, my guess is that someone else opened
the file in an incompatible mode; QUICK opened it with the highest/best
access it could get, but failed when an actual write/delete request was
processed.

If you are changing any data in the file (add, delete, update) then you will
need to have lock access to the file. Have you lock access to the account
and group in which the file resides?
