conversion ?

Hi Joyce,

My advice is DON'T DO IT. In the past I have worked for 3 companies that
have tried this. One went bust, one ended up putting it on hold after
spending 2 years on it (they binned it!!) and the last one ended up with a
system that was worse than they started with.

If you 'have to' then I wish you the best of luck.

I need to hear some feed back from you guys, who had done a migration from
 (HP3000/957) IMAGE DATABASE - SQL DB or Oracle DB on SUN Solaris system. 

We are planning to do a conversion of our system. I would like to findout
from
you guys, How hard it is? What is the best approach? Can we convert all our
COBOL programs(to use micro focus) and powerhouse(?)? How long would it 
take us to do it? We have about 24g of records of our HP3000/957 system now.
