PH710 and Oracle 7

G'day Mark, et. al.

True, Oracle Rdb was named DEC Rdb until about early 1997 but that goes for
many products in the software world.  WordPrefect is now Corel WordPerfect,
Etc.  Nevertheless, it irks me when proffessional people don't use clear
communication (even me).  

Where I am now they refer to Oracle Financials as 'Oracle'.  I have been
working on interfaces between Visibility using an Oracle 7 RDBMS and Oracle
Applications using an Oracle 8 RDBMS.  I had to the the Vis. Oracle database
refreshed a week or so ago but because of a missunderstanding as to which
Oracle database I was referring to, the Oracle Apps. database got refreshed
instead.  This put us over a day behind schedule.  This is why I'm pedantic
about using precise names.

Hey Blue, please be more precise!!!  Just kidding ya, Bob.  It wasn't
until
a couple of months ago I saw for the first time an actual set of Oracle
RDB
(non-DEC) manuals.  Of those many years your referring to, RDB was a DEC
product until Oracle purchased it not so many years ago.
