Axiant cost?

We saw and took note of your earlier message Richard. We are simply stating
OUR experience. You obviously have very motivated users which is NOT the
norm. I have worked at several large PowerHouse sites and typically less
than 5% of the users wanted to write their own reports. They may give lip
service to it but when it comes to the crunch, usually find excuses for not
training or learning the tools. Even with Impromptu, in most places I've
seen MIS requiring a full (or allmost) analyst to create and manage the
catalogs, provide report templates, train users on an ongoing basis and fix
their desktop installs every few weeks after they've installed some
conflicting tool.
At a site with some 200 users, many nuclear engineers, MIS had to turn off
command line access to Quiz as users brought the system to its knees in
short order with poorly written Quiz reports. The ALL had training in how
to write Quiz reports too. Inquizitive didn't help. MIS decided in the end
it would cost them less to write and maintain the reporting themselves as a
service to the users.
Again, this is my experience. If your users are so well versed in Quiz and
happy with it, then why are you writing off Cognos?
