VMS features in PH

I found only one use for REVERSE on a project for my last client. They had a
CHAR*30 field in one of their
records that held both the first, middle initial, and last name. We wanted
to grab only the last name so we
reversed the string, used INDEX to find the end of the reversed last name,
and then REVERSED the last name
once again. It may not have been elegant but it worked. Note, some of the
records did
not contain middle initials or even first names. That is about the only time
I have ever had any use for the REVERSE function.
I guess REVERSE is only really any use when you want to grab the last
"undefined entity" out of a string without
doing a great deal of parsing...
Just my 2 cents...
